David Knoller

David Knoller is a seasoned producer and director who's over 20 year career has encompassed credits in the areas of TV, Film and Theater. Knoller's TV credits include such ground breaking shows and mini-series as HBO's Carnivale, Big Love, and America's Dream; NBC's Jesse and Judd Apatow's Freaks and Geeks; The WB's Gross Pointe and FOX's Kitchen Confidential, both with Darren Star.

Knoller has held senior executive positions at HBO and AMC. While at HBO Knoller oversaw production of HBO Independent Productions, including overseeing the broadcast network series of Fox's Roc, Down The Shore, and Martin. As well as HBO's Comic Relief, HBO Comedy Specials, One Night Stand, Ladies of the Night, and it's series Dream On and The Larry Sanders Show.

As SVP of Original Programming at AMC, Knoller helped jump start the networks first  foray into Original Programming, with such shows as the Emmy award winning 1940's series Remember WENN and the the documentary Blacklist: Hollywood on Trial which garnered the Television Academy's prestigious President's Award. Following his executive roles, Knoller returned to producing and with the support of Dreamworks Television, he formed Knollwood Productions where he produced many cutting edge network pilots for NBC and others.

Currently David is focused on writing and development working on pilots and pitches with such artists as Darren Star, Doug Ellin, Carrie Fisher, and Idina Menzel. Among his many projects, his love for period storytelling continues with his development of a biblical drama about King David with Gahl and Lior Sasson, a 1980's comedy based on the life of the infamous hacker and FBI target Kevin Mitnick, and a mini-series about the1947 Exodus ship.

In his personal life, David is a member of the Entertainment Council of The Center Theater Group in Los Angeles, The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles, AIPAC, The UCLA Epilepsy Foundation, and The Scleroderma Foundation. He is the proud father of two sons, Joshua and Garrett, who remind him everyday of the true meaning of gratitude, and his wife Wendy, who has been his rock and foundation through it all. (oh, and he still likes to consider himself a know it all on musical theater).
