Jessie Kahnweiler began her steamy love affair with moviemaking at the University of Redlands where she immediately began ditching class in order to make documentaries.
For her thesis film, Little America, she hitchhiked across the country to explore the world of America's truck drivers. After college, Jessie packed up her emotional baggage and headed to the City of Angels, churning out a slew of short films including Stupid Questions which stars Zelda Williams as Lucy, a feisty young casting assistant who holds a phony casting call in an effort to find her dream guy.
The film has screened at the Hollyshorts, the Los Angeles Comedy Fest, LA shorts Festival, won best Romantic Comedy at the Atlanta Shortsfest and has been honored with a LA Movie award of excellence. Jessie has also worked in production on films such as Couples Retreat and Green Hornet.
Jessie also served as Post Production Coordinator on JJ Abram's recent hit Super 8. Jessie is making a web series entitled "Dude, Where's my Chutzpah?" as a part of the 6 Points Fellowship for artists. Jessie makes films so "I don't have to keep repeating my jokes to my friends!"
