Sahi Fredo

An Israeli actor born in Ethiopia in 1975. Shai graduated from the Nissan Nativ Actors Studio in Tel-Aviv. He is a performer, a screenwriter a director and a teacher. His one man show "The Lion of Judea (Gur Arieh Yehuda) is based on his biography, the story of an Ethiopean immigrant to Israel.

The play reveals the extremely dangerous and difficult journey Shai and his family went through in order to fulfill their lifelong dream of coming to the promise land – that is Israel. On their way to Israel they were in a concentration camp in nSudan, they experienced the loss of close relatives and friends. However, they were lucky enough to arrive to the promise land and the rest is history.

Currently, Shai is writing his first feature film about his journey from Ethiopia to Israel. It is a combination of historical facts about Ethiopian Jews returning from exile to Israel. The hero of the film returns to Ethiopia to ask for the Ark of the Covenant.
