Bernstein Arik
Arik Bernstein, Alma Films, has been a leading force in the Israeli film industry for the past 15 years. He has initiated and overseen numerous productions: documentaries, documentary series and drama series, most of which as international co-productions. These films and programs have been screened in major film and television festivals worldwide, and were awarded many Israeli and international prizes. Among his credits "Gaza-Sderot" – a daily cross-platform documentary series for Internet & Television.
"Gaza-Sderot" is co produced with Ramattan Studios & BoTravail! & Trabelsi Productions & Upian.Com in collaboration with ARTE France. (2008 PRIX EUROPA, 2009 EBU award for exceptional documentary project, EMMY Nominee – Digital Media).
Other credits include: "Unmistaken Child" (104 min, Dir: Nati Baratz) – real time documentation of the search for a reincarnated master, revealed to us through the eyes of a sincere and passionate Buddhist disciple. For ARTE, ITVS, BBC, Chanel 8 – Noga, DR, YLE (2009 Berlin film festival - Panorama, Official selection 2008 Toronto Film Festival, Best Documentary – Haifa Film Festival 2008) , "In the name of the victims" (53 min, Dir: Ilan Ziv) – the story of how Jewish organizations embezzled millions of dollars from holocaust survivors. Channel 8, ARTE with Point du Jour, France, 2007 “6 Days In June” – (3 part series, Dir: Ilan Ziv) – the 1967 six-day war seen in a new light. for Channel 10-Israel, ARTE, WGBH, Radio Canada, Hot House" (90 min, Dir: Shimo Dotan) – documentary-feature that explores the emergence of Palestinian national leadership in Israeli prisons in light of the elections to the Palestinian Parliament. Co – production with ARTE – Winner Special Jury Award, Sundance 2006 and for television among others : "The History of Israeli and Jewish Humor" (10 episodes) – A documentary series for Channel 1 – IBA, telling the story of Israeli and Jewish humor from the 1920' to this day. Israeli Academy Award, 2004, FIAT/GLS Award 2004, "End of The Orange Season" –A 12 episode documentary series on Israeli rock music for Channel 1 – IBA. Special prizewinner – contribution to Israeli music (1998).
