 Avi Cohen is a writer/director/creative producer. As one of Israel's most established professionals, Avi's greatest claim for fame was "HARTSUFIM", The local version for the British "Spitting Image". A very sharp satirical show using puppets, it ran for over five years and affected quite a few political careers.Beside other programs dealing with political satire, Avi was involved in writing and directing a number of dramatic projects, among others: "Ugly Esty" - an Ironic and humorous Latino style Telenovela, "The Court" - a serious dramatic series taking place in a Hassidic Rabby's court, "The place" - a drama-criminal story all 35 episodes of which took place in one location - a fancy Tel Aviv restaurant. His other credits include Sitcoms, Entertainmet shows and Late Night programs.
Avi Cohen directed five feature-length flims, two of which were box office success.
He teaches at the Sam Spiegel Film school, and is currently Avi is responsible for "Tonight with Lior Shlein" - a daily late night show. |
